I left school after GCSE’s at the age of 16 and set up my first business which was a cleaning company. By the age of 18, I was employing two other people, and the business I run today has progressed from there.

Decide where you want to live first of all, and then think of an idea based on where you live. You have to suit your business to the area in which you live.

In the year 2000 I set up Ultima Cleaning and changed direction slightly. This business specialises in the cleaning of crime scenes, suicides, murders and things of that nature. Our customers include the Police, Housing Associations, Councils and members of the public. Because of the area we live in, there is a need to diversify into different fields as there isn’t enough work in the field of standard cleaning.

The business has developed greatly as we now offer training. The training came about as I was inundated with people that wanted to get into crime scene cleaning, so I set up the National Academy of Crime Scene Cleaners.

I enjoy the responsibility and the challenges that come every day as I enjoy making decisions.
