At the age of 16 I left school and joined a firm of Chartered Surveyors as an apprentice. Having passed my initial professional exams I then went to college in Sheffield to study full time in the knowledge that this was the profession for me.  I qualified as surveyor in 1977 and since then I have had a variety of property related jobs both in the private and public sector. 

Eventually after much soul searching I started up my own business in 1982 which I then sold to the Prudential Property Services in 1987 where I became an Area Director managing 25 offices along the North Wales coast, Chester and the Wirral.  In 1992 I restarted the business with my fellow director Richard Thomas and the business celebrated 25 years recently. We employ 60 staff and have 5 offices in North West Wales and we are aiming to expand along the coast towards Chester in the next 5 years.

There are several positive aspects of working for yourself and some negatives and to do so you need passion, drive, structure and a very good work ethic; things don’t just happen you make them happen!
