Cwmni Da was established in 1997 and has since developed into a leading independent production company in Wales. National and international products of the company include factual, children, comedy, entertainment, drama, and sport events. We are a major producer for S4C, and we also create content for the BBC, C4 and the international co-production market.

Dylan Huws - Cwmni Da 

Before Cwmni Da, I worked as a producer and director for seven years at Ffilmiau’r Nant. I started winning work for myself and decided to venture on my own in order to have full control of future projects, creatively and financially.

My first employer in the television industry was Wil Aaron from Ffilmiau’r Nant. He was very open in sharing his experiences, and encouraged others to take risks. He inspired me in his attitude towards creative ideas and running a business.

It is a lot more challenging to be on the creative side of things these days with my role in management, although I enjoy leading others and making decisions that influence the direction and future of the company.

It is important to grow successfully without losing hold of the initial idea. As a company, we believe strongly in encouraging and supporting creativity. My main pleasure in the work that I do is to encourage new entrants and provide opportunity for young people to develop their own creative ideas.
