In a nutshell:
Social enterprise to promote and help youth unemployment
Sectors:
Financial and professional services
Region:
Ceredigion

I used to live in Llandudno before moving to London where I left sixth-form half-way through to launch my first internet based start-up; I funded the project by the money I earned part-time whilst working during sixth-from.

The image sharing website was a unique experience for me and I learnt a tremendous deal from the failure of the site. After finishing the start-up I applied for a UnLtd grant to launch a social enterprise to promote and help youth unemployment, the site is called YouthDirect.org.uk. YouthDirect’s aim was to tackle the increasingly important issue of Youth Unemployment by providing entry-level jobs to young people via smartphone devices.

Since the launch, the site has helped around 5000 young people apply for jobs with me and has also been featured on BBC News, ITV News, the Guardian and the Huffington Post. After being frustrated by the admin tasks of sending my CV to recruiters, I launched Findara in the aim that it will streamline the whole process, by allowing you to send your CV to 100s of relevant recruitment agencies in a matter of seconds saving you hours, if not days. Within the businesses I have launched, I have been involved in every stage and I hope to use this knowledge to better support and promote entrepreneurship in Wales. In addition I am working with the largest job fair provider in the UK thejobfairs.co.uk"
