"Grow your business alongside either a part-time job or full time job and make sure you have some money coming in before you launch yourself in a full time capacity."
Gwenno Dafydd Williams - Gwenno Daffyd
I have a regular slot on a Welsh medium television programme, regularly feature on the radio and deliver courses on Assertiveness, Confidence Building, Public Speaking and Networking a freelance capacity to companies and educational establishments throughout Wales and further afield.
I love the freedom of not having a boss telling me what to do and having the ability to try out ideas and seeing where they take me to.
I trained as a Drama and Welsh teacher and started my ‘business’ busking all over the continent. I have a very rich career of well over thirty years to look back on; broadcasting through the medium of Welsh, English, French and Dutch, two programme ideas commissioned by S4C, Directing Theatre in Education Projects and have written over 140 song lyrics, including the Saint David’s Day Anthem.
A book examining the glass ceiling through the prism of my passion of women in comedy was recently published by Swansea based Parthian Press. This book was the culmination of twenty years of research and contains personal interviews with 84 people worldwide involved in the comedy industry including 65 female stand-up comics such as Joan Rivers, Amy Schumer, Jo Brand and Jenny Eclair.
