In a nutshell:
Young Ambassador - Data-based approach to language learning
Sectors:
Language / Translation
Region:
Isle of Anglesey

Since I was young, I have always had a passion for languages. At 17 I was the first person in the UK to receive a scholarship to study Chinese abroad, and by 21 I had finished a degree in Chinese studies. After spending much of the last decade in China, working in digital marketing and teaching myself different languages, I decided to come back to Wales to set up a company. I enrolled in an MBA in International Business in Bangor University and set up Pai Language Learning.

The idea for a data-based approach to language learning is something that I have developed slowly over time. After teaching myself many different languages to different levels, I began to notice that word frequency and the frequency of certain grammatical structures, as well as allowing the learner more control over their learning experience could vastly improve a person's ability to learn a language. The combination of the two also allows the process to be optimised. The modular nature of the content also allows us to quickly add new languages, using automation to speed up the process.

I have always struggled to find work that made the most of my specific skills, and I know there are many other people in the same situation. If I could give some advice to them, I would say, if you can't find a job that suits you, make one. Not only will you feel like you are living to your potential, but also you will have the freedom to work in the way you think is best!
