I currently own and operate two hair and beauty salons, one in Criccieth and the other in Dolgellau, and partner with the Mermaid spa Portmeirion. I started my business in what was our family home on Criccieth high street in April 2000.
As well as our own employees we provide spaces for self employed stylist, therapists and beauticians. We strive to provide a vibrant and nurturing environment for industry professionals to work together.
I originally trained as an artist, but found that I constantly needed to supplement my income. I decided to retrain as a hairdresser, completing my apprenticeship with a national company before setting out on my own. My Initial intention was to earn enough to help pay some of the household bills. But during the last 15 years we have operated 5 salons and had a work force of 34 stylists. I have trained 22 people up to level 3 NVQ , many of whom have gone on to start their own businesses.
