I started my first business at the age of 12. Catching mackerel and selling them on the beach at Oxwich. I was earning more in a day than many who were working 5 days a week in Swansea as shop assistants.
I studied and worked in electronics at the beginning of my career, moving on to production engineering and management. The last full-time job I had was working for an engineering company developing a new packaging system for steel coils, gaining several patents.
I started my own business with my wife, who was a web developer, at the beginning of the internet. We deliver consultancy and training in digital customer experience and website promotion. I am currently working on my third book on digital customer experience, which will be published early in 2022.
The books have been a major hurdle for me considering I am dyslexic. They have led to many speaking events where I am paid to speak at international conferences, a bonus that I did not expect.
"The younger you start the better. Set your goals and remember it is not necessary to compromise another business to grow your own. My father and a few others inspired me, life is also a great inspiration…there is so much going on out there so go out and discover it. Finally, one other tip I will share. Have fun on the journey, you will be much happier."
