I am a music manager, publisher and record label based in North Wales. I started my business almost by accident - I’d been inspired by other music managers like Malcolm McLaren (Sex Pistols) and Andrew Loog Oldham (Rolling Stones) to get involved in managing pop groups, but my particular interest was in working with Welsh language acts.
To be honest my aim was to change the Welsh culture rather than make money - though that came as a by-product.
A quote from Malcolm McLaren:
“Being fearless of failure arms you to break the rules. In doing so, you may change the culture”.

Every now and then you get lucky: I managed Catatonia for the first two years, and that really helped me to keep the business thriving for the next few years.
Now I have a ‘portfolio’ of activities, because running a record label in the age of free downloads doesn’t pay the bills, and having a variety of work spreads the risk.
