I started my own business because I kept failing my probations in the employment world! The only way forward was to become my own boss within the massage therapy industry. However, I was fed up seeing the same branding aesthetics that most companies and self-employed massage therapists tend to gravitate towards. If I was going to have my own company, it would have to reflect who I was as an individual and not fit into the mold of what the industry or society expects.

Super Calming and Holistic is a Mary Poppins inspired massage therapy business that spends most of its time travelling around Cardiff from office to office providing Wellbeing Days in corporate companies. On occasion, it also provides one-to-one appointments for a variety of massage treatments.

I was inspired by the pain that was caused by not being able to hold down a job and at the time, not being able to manage having Asperger’s Syndrome. Sometimes in life, it is our darkest hours that pushes our mental and emotional stamina that gets you where your meant to be. It was the business world that helped me reset my thinking; which in turn helped me run my company as well as having a handle on the adversity that ASD can sometimes bring.

The biggest problem I overcame was that I was finally able to create a career and a brand that reflects who I am. To be able to strike the balance between being relational and rebellious simultaneously within my business is my greatest achievement.
