I used to work in Creative Media in London as a Project Director working on digital global brands. However after working 15 years and working 18 hour days in the industry, I wanted a better balance in life, to reconnect with nature and to do something more fulfilling. That's when I changed my focus.
Since working in the city, I’ve travelled the world, building up vast experience of leading expeditions to Nepal, Mongolia, India, China, Peru, Morocco and the Alps.
I am now the founder of Psyched Paddleboarding, a successful stand up paddleboarding experience adventure company.
I completed a number of record breaking challenges. I was part of the first team to cross England on a stand up paddleboard (SUP), then the first person to ever SUP solo the 3 British lakes, Llyn Tegid, Windermere Lake and Loch Awe in 3 days, all unsupported. I was also the first person to circumnavigate Anglesey on a SUP which took me 5 days to complete the 120km journey.
I guess you could call me a real activist, with my most recent achievement being a big expedition with a real purpose - highlighting the epidemic we face with disposable single use plastics. I was the first person to SUP circumnavigate Wales (solo and unsupported), a 1000km journey along canals, rivers and sea. I raise money for charity, collecting plastic along the way, inspiring others to make a pledge against plastics and educational talks.
I’m a Global Ambassador for Starboard, and team rider for Starboard UK, as well as an official partner for Peak UK and ambassador for Water Skills Academy and Aquapac.
You will find my work as a regular ‘Expert’ in SUP International Magazine, sharing my expert knowledge for its readers. I’ve also been in the media for my sterling effort about raising awareness about plastic pollution and SUP.
My passion is to inspire others to have fire in their belly, to help them achieve their dreams. I’m keen to give insight from my own exciting journey and provide some top tips for finding the passion in others and how to run a successful business.
