Anna Bowen, The Anderson Centre
Anna grew up on a Welsh dairy farm and studied International Equine and Agricultural Management at the Royal Agricultural University, followed by a Masters in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security. She is currently undertaking a postgraduate certificate at the University of Aberystwyth.
She was awarded a 2021 Nuffield Scholarship looking at options for improving the ethics of dairy farming, focusing on options for dairy beef, the feasibility of cow calf contact dairying, and cross- industry lessons in social licence from horse racing. In November 2023 she will present her findings at the annual Nuffield Conference. Her scholarship is sponsored by the Elizabeth Creake Charitable Trust.
Anna now lives in Ceredigion where she contract farms a herd of 300 spring block calving dairy cows with her partner. Outside of the farm, Anna works full-time as a farm business consultant for The Andersons Centre and is a freelance writer and independent mobility scorer.
