Farming Connect would like to invite farmers to a prosiectslyri event, which is being held in partnership with AHDB, at Gelli Aur.

The day will be separated into two sections, formal indoor presentations in the morning by the following: Rick de Vor - Nutrient Management in the Netherlands. Rick de Vor Dutch Farmer and Nuffield scholar will share his experience of farming within the current imposed legislations and controls. 

David Ball will also be present and will be discussing - The value of slurry. David Ball, from AHDB will be covering the value of nutrients and how to make the best use of those nutrients to reduce expenditure. 

Lorna Davies, NFU Nuffield scholar will give a presentation on Earning your recognition and will talk about the farmer led approach and earned recognition in nutrient management. 

In the afternoon, there will be practical demonstration stations outdoors.

Chris Duller will demonstrate practical nutrient management techniques, planning risk assesments. 

Keith Owen will highlight the importance of good infrastructure and maintenance to minimise the incursion of clean rain water into slurry stores, with the aim of minimising the need for capital investment. 

Gareth Morgan, Power & Water CEO will demonstrate the current performance and development of the dewatering plant. He will also update delegates on commercialisation plans.  

Abigail James, Farming Connect Technical Officer has said:

“This event can be extremely useful for farmers who want to develop their understanding and increase their knowledge within this field as well getting an update on progress of development of the de-watering process.”

Lunch is provided and booking for the event is essential.
