Forester and Farming Connect Mentor, Phil Morgan, shares his work at Coed Fron Drain near Mold, a sustainably managed forest which was discussed whilst representing Wales at the 2022 International Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF) conference in France.

CCF is an approach to forest management which aims to develop structurally, visually and biologically diverse forests, in which sustainable production of quality timber is achieved along with the provision of a wide range of ecosystem services.

Conservationist and biologist Johnny Halson, from the North Wales Wildlife Trust joins Phil to talk about the work completed around managing and maintaining the ecosystem at Fron Drain that feeds into the CCF.

Farming Connect registered businesses can access Phil’s support through the Mentoring programme here.
