The British Cattle Veterinary Association ( BCVA ) together with the Cattle Hoof Care Standards Board (CHCSB) have developed a programme of foot trimming and treatment courses aimed at providing farmers with the most up to date training delivered by a highly trained team of instructors. The programme includes one day First Aid for Feet and the three day Intermediate Hoof Trimming.
All courses are delivered by a BCVA Accredited Foot Health Trainer in conjunction with a CHCSB Accredited Instructor. This training partnership means that delegates will benefit from a wide range of theoretical and practical expertise and the requirement for trainers to remain up to date and accredited to deliver the courses means high standards of training will be maintained.
The content of the courses is constantly reviewed to ensure that they incorporate the latest research findings and are aligned with industry best practice approaches. The courses fulfil the requirements for assurance bodies and provide the delegate with a Certificate of Competence on successful completion of the end of course assessments.
