Has farmed the land for over 50 years and the landowner is keen to take a step back from running the farm day to day. 
By providing an opportunity for an enthusiastic young person in the agriculture sector, it is essential that the quality of the farm is maintained and improved by soil sampling, fencing, and re-seeding. 
Our targets over the next 5 years

  • Less responsibility for us on the farm and more responsibility for a younger person
  • Opportunity to share experience and expertise of farming

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Type of agreement being considered: Joint Venture or Farming on agreement

Requirements of the role including main tasks, responsibilities and skills required: 

The ability and experience to look after the flock of sheep and cattle that are already on the farm, along with the ability to work independently. However, help will be available for any task when needed.

Experience of working with agricultural machinery will be of aid, but not essential. Tasks will include grass mowing and re-seeding.
Passion and enthusiasm to adapt to changes that are on the horizon regarding agricultural policies. Ready to use modern technology to measure lamb DLWG, record results etc. Looking into starting a rotational grazing system.
