Angharad Edwards
New Moat, Pembrokeshire
Launching a successful milk vending business has made Angharad Edwards ambitious for business growth.
Angharad, a former programme director for Ffermio, the S4C farming series produced by Telesgop, gave up her job in the media to concentrate on the diversification she launched with her partner, Roger, on his family’s dairy farm.
Since establishing Llaeth Preseli Milk at Moat Grange, they have added gelato to the product range and want to grow the business by creating a gelateria and small farm shop.
That ambition extends to one day perhaps establishing a processing facility on the farm to allow the ice-cream to be made on the same site where the milk that goes into it is produced by the herd of 300 British Friesian, Montbéliarde and Norwegian Red three-way cross cows.
Angharad is a graduate in Law and Welsh who grew up in Maenclochog. Her parents both have backgrounds in farming and she describes herself as a “country girl’’.
That passion for the countryside and farming led to her establishing a Pembrokeshire branch of Women in Agriculture. She is also active within the YFC movement, coaching members in public speaking and singing.
She is thrilled to have won a place on the 2023 Business and & Innovation programme.
Since launching the new business, Angharad says she recognises the value of having the input of experts to guide that process, a reason why she applied to the Agri Academy.
