“We want to hear from people who have an active interest in Welsh farming and forestry and can spot opportunities to harness new technology that will directly benefit farm and forestry businesses.”
“We’re mostly interested in innovations that are close to being commercially viable and could offer farmers and foresters a significant advantage in running their businesses. I expect the Agri Lab to offer an excellent opportunity for members to learn from each other about cutting edge technology.”
Members of the Agri Lab Forum will meet at least twice a year and undertake activities to identify key innovation opportunities and technologies. Farming Connect will support the Agri Lab’s work by sharing information about their findings with the industry and demonstrate innovations in practice through Farming Connect’s new demonstration site network.
Mr Hughes added: “A prominent area will be dedicated at this year’s Royal Welsh Show for the Agri Lab to demonstrate a selection of innovations to the wider farming and forestry public. I’m really looking forward to see what sort of new technology the members will want to showcase and to find out how the industry can expect to benefit.”
