To find out more about how Dairy Producer Organisations (DPO) could add value and improve efficiencies in the dairy supply chain in Wales, join Farming Connect at their first ‘DPO Cymru Summit’.

DPOs could help address current and future market challenges within the Welsh dairy sector. DPOs are groups set up and controlled by farmers, and their main role is to negotiate contracts and terms and conditions of supply, including milk price, with processors.

The DPO Cymru Summit will outline DPO structures and provide information on the possibilities they could offer the Welsh Dairy industry. The day’s programme will include:

  • Eminent industry speakers including Stephen Bone, chairman of Dairy Crest Direct DPO at Davidstow; Rory Christie, chairman of Milk Supply Association; and Neil Adams, of Promar.
  • Workshops to facilitate discussions, thoughts and debate
  • Q&A session with panel of speakers

The summit is organised by Farming Connect in conjunction with the DPO Cymru Agrisgôp group. The group is made up of dairy farmers from across Wales who are keen to investigate and explore the possibilities of DPOs in Wales.
