Farming Connect is offering fully-funded clinics for registered businesses on a variety of topics.
“The Farming Connect clinics are a great opportunity for farmers to look at ways to improve efficiencies and productivity as well as becoming more resilient in light of the uncertain future ahead.
“These clinics are an opportunity for businesses to receive one-to-one expert advice, as well as review current practices and to assess their business.
“All consultations will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, therefore, businesses are urged to book their slot as soon as possible.”
said Sara Jenkins, Farming Connect Knowledge Transfer Programme Development Manager.
There are a wide range of Farming Connect clinics available, including Soils and Grassland clinics that allow farmers to discuss nutrient requirements, weed and rush control, drainage, soil structure or rotational grazing.
Animal Health Testing clinics are also available where farmers can receive sampling or testing services on a number of animal health issues, followed by feedback and analysis from their local vet.
Farming Connect also offers Infrastructure and Building Design clinics (which include visits) to discuss the improvement of farm infrastructure to improve efficiency and to minimise risks to the environment.
Other Farming Connect clinics include Adding Value to Farm Woodland where farmers can assess where they can add value to existing or planned farm woodland. Diversification clinics are also available to discuss ideas about maximising existing resources on the farm.
Farming Connect also provides expert, independent business and technical advice through the Advisory Service which is subsidised by up to 80% (or fully-funded for group applications) as well as fully-funded one-to-one confidential mentoring on a wide range of topics.
All businesses must be registered with Farming Connect to be eligible to attend the clinics.
