This is a 5 day course held throughout the growing season followed by a ½ day BASIS exam.

This course is a sound introduction to the agronomy, integrated crop protection and crop nutrition of the main UK combinable and root crops. For some delegates with limited crop experience and knowledge it serves as a preliminary course for the BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection Course. For others such as farm staff, who have a role which will not involve giving agronomy and crop protection advice, it is a standalone course providing them with a level of understanding and knowledge appropriate for their work.

  • Weeds
  • Pests
  • Diseases
  • Soil and Crop Nutrition
  • Plant Protection Chemicals and Fertiliser Products
  • Protecting People, Animals and the Environment

Many successful candidates from the Foundation Award in Agronomy course will go on to achieve further BASIS qualifications such as FACTS and the BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection.
