This course is a 3-hour training workshop and a certificate of attendance will be issued on completion of the workshop. Workshops are delivered by local vet practices pan Wales.

Workshop attendees will learn about the main causes of lamb loss from birth to weaning, and the management strategies that may be employed to minimise these losses. The main focus will be on the perinatal period, including managing ewe nutrition to reduce dystocia and increase lamb vitality. Improving hygiene during the lambing period is also vital to reduce the risk of lamb losses due to infection. Discussion about biosecurity and biocontainment will highlight areas where improvements may be made to minimise the risk of disease introduction and spread on farm.
