The Enterprise Troopers

The brand new Enterprise Troopers Primary School Challenge is now open for registrations for 2023-24!

The Challenge aims to nurture entrepreneurial attitudes in the children of Wales.  It combines the thrill of owning a business with learning valuable new skills in creativity, problem solving, communication, organisation, while developing their confidence in literacy and numeracy.

How do we take part?

The Challenge is open to all primary schools in Wales and we are encouraging participation from Lower and Upper primary phases. It’s for schools who already have an enterprise club or have taken part in other enterprise competitions and challenges, and for those who are keen to get started. It doesn’t matter what kind of enterprise it is, it just needs to be an activity that is pupil-led and team-based.

Any project you have put into practice from 1 January 2023 is eligible, as is anything that you have planned up until 4pm on the 17 May 2024, the closing date.

Schools completing their registration for the Challenge by the closing date will be invited to one of five Regional Showcase events to be held across Wales between the end of June and middle of July 2024.  These fun celebratory events will be an opportunity for schools to showcase their enterprises, sell their products and take part in business-led learning experiences linked to the Curriculum for Wales.

How can the Enterprise Troopers help?

Our new Enterprise Troopers resources aim to inspire children and teachers alike the joy of coming up with a great business idea, the thrill of making their first sale and the satisfaction of doing good for their local community.

Take a look at these fun learning activities for lower primary and upper primary age-groups  to help to develop teamwork, literacy and numeracy skills.

They also develop ambition, enterprise, creativity and ethical trading – supporting the four purposes of the Curriculum for Wales.

Looking for inspiration? Don’t miss “Enterprise Education and the Four Purposes”, the story of four schools in Wales who enriched their curriculum through enterprise activities, and inspired every single child that took part.

You can also take a look at our YouTube playlist of past Enterprise Troopers schools –  each and every one a team of inspiring, successful entrepreneurs.

All schools that register their enterprise idea online will get a digital resources pack, certificate and badge to reward their entrepreneurial skills!

If you share photos of your enterprise for us to add to the Enterprise Trooper gallery you’ll also get entered into a monthly draw with fantastic spot prizes for your school.

Where do I register?
