Cassi Wyn Jones
Porthmadog, Gwynedd
Cassi Wyn Jones is currently in her second year studying agriculture at Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, Glynllifon, combining her studies with working on a nearby beef and sheep farm, and keeping her own stock on the family farm. Cassi is keen to gather as much experience as possible and therefore helps out with milking on another nearby farm from time to time and also wraps wool for local shearing contractors during the shearing season.
Cassi intends to spend the next few years working on farms across the world, predominantly wrapping wool. She is planning to visit New Zealand, Australia, and Norway.
When Cassi returns home, she hopes to secure a job working within the agricultural industry in Wales before returning to run the family farm. Her vision for the farm includes expanding and diversifying the business by selling eggs, flowers, and Welsh lamb/beef boxes.
Cassi feels that the Junior Academy will be a valuable opportunity to learn and to help develop ideas which will lead to her own personal development, as well as the development of the family farm.
Cassi says that her greatest wish in life is to have the opportunity to prove that “I; as a girl, who hasn’t grown up on a farm, can be successful in this industry.”
