• Spring data for Soilmentor was collected, and sward lifting and spiral roller slitting were carried out to rectify compaction issues.
• Livestock were moved onto the fields to begin the deferred grazing system.

Next Steps?

• Continue to monitor grass growth, soil characteristics, dung beetle populations, and the impact of the system on Himalayan balsam density throughout the grazing season.
• Analyse the collected data to evaluate the effectiveness of the deferred grazing system in improving soil health and productivity.
• Share the project findings with other farmers and stakeholders to promote the adoption of sustainable grazing practices.
