Mark Needham - Biomass Connect IBERS
Mark Needham lives with his family on a farm on the west coast of Wales, with enterprises including sheep, beef and holiday accommodation. He has been working in land-based education and knowledge exchange roles since 1999. The majority of this time he has spent teaching further educational courses, most recently as the programme manager for Higher Educational studies at Coleg Sir Gar’s Gelli Aur campus in West Wales. During this period, he also worked as a Knowledge Transfer officer with Hybu Cig Cymru delivering the Red Meat development programme on behalf of Welsh Government’s Farming Connect.
Mark is now a Knowledge Exchange Fellow for Biomass Connect, a project funded by the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). Mark’s role is to provide robust, independent information on biomass feedstock performance, agronomy, economics and environmental benefits to landowners and land managers across the UK.
