Join Menter Moch Cymru and Farming Connect to hear from experts on the opportunities and considerations of keeping pigs commercially as an alternative income.

 

The event will cover the following information:

Housing and space requirements, Biosecurity, Sourcing pigs, Cost of production, Feed and Finding a market.

 

Discover the factors involved to be able to make a decision on diversifying into pigs on your farm. In addition there will be an opportunity to discover and learn about elements of the business that will be key to success:

  • making new contacts, access to specialist advice, discover what's on offer
  • opportunity to attend training days.

 

As well as an overview of the Menter Moch Cymru and Farming Connect activities, the former AHDB pork strategic director, now independent consultant, Mick Sloyan will give an overview of the sector and the opportunities available. In addition, pig farmer Luke Starkey will talk about his business and his journey since joining the pig sector in 2017. Attending one of these events is a golden opportunity to learn and question experts on diversification to pigs.
