21/10/2020, 10:30- Horticulture Innovation (Potatoes / Carrots and stem vegetables)

Grace Choto will be speaking about the EU Horizon 2020 EIP-AGRI network Best4soil project. The project aims to improve soil health across Europe through the promotion of 4 soil management best practices and sound crop rotations. AHDB has a ‘Facilitation role’ to communicate project outcomes and resources to farmers and growers. During the presentation, Grace will be focusing on the Best4soil nematode database.

 

21/10/2020, 14:00- Internet of Things on Welsh farms: Making farm management easier, better and more profitable.

During this workshop styled webinar, participants will:-Enjoy an informal workshop targeted to farmers new to “Internet of Things”(IoT) farm applications, be encouraged to network and to share ideas and experiences, hear from two companies pioneering in the AgriTech sector with on-farm IoT solutions, brainstorm practical ideas on how IoT sensors could be deployed to benefit Welsh farmers, learn how to access the Farming Connect LoRaWAN gateways deployed on 18 sites within the demonstration network.

 

21/10/2020, 20:00- What role does Internet of Things technology have in Agriculture?

During this evening webinar, Peter Williams will cover the LoRaWAN technology and Dr Stephen Christie will discuss Agxio, a new data intelligence service for agricultural businesses.

 

22/10/2020, 10:30- Soil mapping project work at Pantyderi Demonstration Farm

This webinar will present the results of soil mapping 60hectares (ha) of arable land and 40ha of grassland at Pantyderi demonstration site.

A punchy, hour-long webinar with all you need to know about selling online along with ways to promote your website.

 

22/10/2020, 20:00- Summary of the innovation farming report

To close a series of webinars as a part of the Innovation and Diversification week, Jonathan Birnie will join Farming Connect to give a summary of the innovation farming report he produced.
