Variable Milking Times

Our second Zoom Around the World adventure, we’re taking you on a long-haul flight to the Southern Hemisphere to meet a group of like-minded business owners who have reformed their farming systems by transitioning milk production to variable milking times.

This episode takes a deep dive into 3 different businesses based in New Zealand, running 3 different variable milking hours systems; 10in7, Once-a-day and 16 Hours.

A system and practise that is centred on flexibility, we hear first hand the challenges, reasoning and contributing factors which led to their business transitions, along with uncovering the benefits they have realized and gained including a balance of lifestyle and productivity.

Could this inspire you to transform your farming system by trialling new practices? If so, support and guidance could be available through Farming Connect.
