For this episode of Zoom Around the World, Farming Connect has partnered with the Nature Friendly Farming Network UK to discover how Nature Means Business.

There is growing pressure on the agricultural sector in Wales, the UK and across the world to improve its environmental performance. A global target of achieving net-zero emissions now means that farmers and foresters should operate in ways that don’t impact adversely on the environment.

This episode demonstrates through the first-hand experience of three farming businesses in Yorkshire that have taken steps to enhance the relationship between farming and nature.

By developing new business models which treat nature as a stakeholder in the farm business combined with an assessment of their surroundings and a reduction in variable costs, they are all now achieving Maximum Sustainable Output (MSO). Put simply, this is the point at which farming is at its most profitable and nature at its best.
