This course is a 3-hour training workshop and a certificate of attendance will be issued on completion of the workshop. Workshops are delivered by local vet practices pan Wales.

Workshop attendees will learn about the main causes of lamb loss prior to lambing; abortion, nutritional imbalance and prolapses. The focus will be on the transmission and diagnosis of Enzootic abortion (EAE) and Toxoplasmosis (the main causes of abortion in the UK), and the biosecurity and biocontainment measures that can be taken to minimise losses as a result of these infections. The workshop will also outline the importance of body condition scoring and correct nutrition in minimising losses due to metabolic disease, prolapses and dystocia.
