Beef Breeding and Genetics

In this course you will learn how to use genetic evaluation results to select the best breeding stock for your beef herd. We will discuss how performance is affected by both genetic and non-genetic factors, but it is the genetics that is passed to the next generation. We’ll explain how genetic evaluations can be used to measure genetic potential and where to find and how to use genetic evaluations for beef cattle.
