Agriculture has a significant environmental footprint. It is associated with approximately one third of global land use and is a key driver of land use change globally. Food production is also associated with ~15% of global greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, food needs are anticipated to grow, as a consequence of increases in both population and per capita demand. In response to these various pressures, many food producers are seeking more sustainable ways of producing food.
