In this module you will learn about growing your own sources of protein for livestock feed, therefore reducing your reliance on imported protein. Protein is the single biggest cost for livestock feed. It is mostly imported and mixed into feed rations to increase growth and productivity of livestock. But relying on imports means that farmers are vulnerable to instability of supply and price volatility. By growing their own protein sources, farmers are in control of their own costs as much as possible.
