Aligning apprenticeships to the needs of the Welsh economy

We have been seeking views on the development of the apprenticeship model for Wales to see how we can align it to the needs of the Welsh economy.

Our vision is to develop a responsive and resilient apprenticeship system, that will support you to develop and deliver apprenticeships that are innovative and industry focused.

The system needs to support economic growth, be responsive to the needs of the future economy, provide a range of skills that aid social mobility and ensure equality of opportunity.

We want an apprenticeship programme that is highly regarded by employers, individuals and parents.

Our consultation asked how we can achieve this vision, so we have an apprenticeship model that better aligns with the needs of the Welsh economy.

Next Steps

The Welsh Government has published the responses to the Consultation, which will now be used to inform the development of an implementation plan for a new apprenticeship model for Wales.
