Key areas you wish to focus on as a demonstration farmer?

Sheep genetics: to improve the specification and marketability of lambs by developing flock genetics.

Cost of production: to explore opportunities for reducing our cost of production without compromising output.

Carbon capture: to investigate ways of how to best manage the woodlands and hedgerows at Halghton Hall, recognising their importance in carbon capture and adding value to any timber generated.

Halghton Hall Farm Facts

"It is important to farm with the future in mind, to make decisions today that are sustainable going forward, be that looking after our soils or creating a carbon negative environment to produce food. I am looking forward to working with Farming Connect to help ourselves and other farmers achieve this by utilising expert knowledge and exploring some of the key challenges of our time within the sheep sector."
