Calbee is a major Japanese snack food maker which was founded in 1949.
In 2014 Calbee (UK) Ltd was formed creating a range of savoury healthy snacks and a manufacturing facility was opened in Deeside in 2015.
Calbee has received significant funding from the Welsh Government’s programme ‘Inward Investors to Wales’. Support included help with finding premises, working with local colleges to offer training and development, financial support in terms of investment in the creation of jobs in Wales. Calbee is a great sign of how Wales is now becoming part of the global food market.
