Insight Programme

The Insight Programme provides Welsh food and drink businesses with the latest insight to understand the grocery retail and out of home foodservice markets in Wales and GB. The programme also provides export market insight covering 50 countries worldwide. In addition to market data the Insight programme explores future trends and insights, to help Welsh businesses shape their plans to meet changing customer and consumer demands.


Insight Conference 2025: Be ahead of the Curve

The Welsh Food & Drink Annual Insight Programme Conference will take place from 10 - 14th March 2025, offering a comprehensive programme designed to provide the latest market intelligence and strategic insights to support the Welsh food and drink sector.

This year's theme, ‘Be Ahead of the Curve,’ will focus on several key areas: the economy and business, future consumer trends, retail developments, the out-of-home sector, and export opportunities. Attendees will benefit from expert analysis and practical guidance from leading industry specialists.

This event is open to Welsh Food & Drink producers.

Evaluation 2023

Findings from an Independent evaluation of The Insight Programme conducted by Promar International in 2023 found:

  • Over 80% of respondents said they had seen some increase in business turnover
  • 68% stated they gained up to an additional £0.5 million turnover in the last 3 years
  • Insight especially highlighted was the unique Value of Welshness body of work, initiated and delivered by the Programme
