Sarah Bunton Luxury Chocolates, the award winning Welsh chocolatier, has recently secured an order with John Lewis to begin supplying their stores with Easter themed chocolate bars in 2016.
Working from a chocolate kitchen in the popular tourist spot of Devil's Bridge, near to Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Sarah and her growing team create a broad range of filled chocolates and truffles, seasonal gift lines, bars and novelty items.
Earlier this year, with support from the Welsh Government, Sarah attended a meet the buyer event which allowed her company to engage with potential new customers. Talking about the new order Sarah said,
“We are very pleased to have secured this order and believe this a start to a great working relationship. We attended the event in London this April where we were able to meet The Fine Confectionery Company who supply John Lewis and have been able to negotiate a great deal.
“We will begin supplying John Lewis with Easter themed chocolate bars but we also produce ranges of chocolates that are perfect for chocolate shops or fine food outlets, as well as lines to suit cafes, hotels and restaurants - such as the ChocoShots drink stirrers or small ballotins of wedding favours or bedroom chocolates. Therefore we hope we can do more in the future.”
Rebecca Evans AM is the Welsh Government’s Deputy Minister for Farming and Food,
“This is great news for Sarah Bunton Luxury Chocolates and emphasises the importance of Food and Drink Wales’s meet the buyer events. These events provide invaluable opportunities for Welsh micro food and drink companies to interact directly with potential partners from leading companies and as we have seen from Sarah’s success, it can have a direct positive impact on the Welsh economy.”
