MamGu Welshcakes has become the latest Welsh food and drink business to achieve Certified B Corporation™ status, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

The Pembrokeshire-based company is now one of ten Welsh producers to secure the internationally recognised accreditation, supporting Wales’ ambition to develop sustainable, high‑quality food and drink production.

B Corp certification is awarded to businesses that meet high standards of performance, accountability and transparency across governance, workers, community, environment and customers. Through the process, MamGu Welshcakes has strengthened its sustainability approach, embedding responsible practices across its operations while continuing to celebrate its Welsh heritage and traditional products.

Commenting on the achievement, director, Sam Swift said: “Achieving B Corp certification is a hugely proud moment for us. As a Welsh business rooted in community, sustainability and responsible business practices, this is a major milestone and one we are incredibly proud of. From the very beginning, we’ve been committed to doing things the right way, creating quality Welsh products while looking after our people, our community and the environment.

“This process has been invaluable in prompting us to step back, challenge ourselves, and drive meaningful improvements across the business. Becoming a B Corp isn’t the destination – it’s part of an ongoing commitment to do better.”

MamGu Welshcakes joins a group of Welsh B Corp food and drink businesses, including Barti Rum, Coaltown Coffee, Drop Bear Beer Co., Golden Hooves (First Milk), Halen Môn / Anglesey Sea Salt, Hilltop Honey, Tiny Rebel, Wholebake and Welsh Coffee Co.

Cabinet Minister for Rural Resilience and Sustainability, Llyr Gruffydd said:
